PANAUTI SETTLEMENT | 2022

Panauti is one of only Proper Newari Settlement located on the river bank. Panauti is a religiously significant settlement located on the confluence of the two rivers Roshi and Punyamati. In addition to these two river, there is said to be a hidden third river named as Lilawati which make the site a tri junction or Triveni.The settlement has been listed as UNESCO World Heritage site tentative list since 1996. The Makar Mela, which occurs every 12 years is the major festival of Panauti.
